Couch Recycling/ Sofa Removal
Getting a new couch and dont have a council hard waste collection available. Give us call to arrange a pickup of your old couch of which there are many options for us. Upcycle it, donate it, or recycle the components of the couch. Everything except the fabric on the outside is currently recyclable once stripped down into timber, foams, steel and fabrics. These take up a large volume in the landfill sites which we try and avoid so lets re-direct it.
First Couch Recycled
Couches have basic construction and are made up of 4 common materials. This two seater couch was 64kg total weight and in dry condition. We were able to strip it down four material groups and all are recyclable except for the exterior cloth materials. Steel components such as screws, headrest pivots, spring supports and plates made up 3.2 kg. Exterior cloth, strapping material and coverings total was 8.5kg. Various grades of foams total 12.3kg. The remaining timber frame material made up the rest being 40kg. By way of percentage we have been able to reclaim 86.8% of the material.
